Zanzibar

Zanzibar is a fantastic place to unwind after an adventurous safari or challenging mountain climb. Relax on the beach or experience the culture mix in Stone Town. Unlike the mainland of Tanzania, ninety-five percent of Zanzibar’s population is Islamic. The remaining five percent is a mixture of Christians, Hindus and other religions. The most spoken language is Swahili. The Swahili spoken on Zanzibar is considered to be the purest in all of East Africa. But most people also speak good English and many people speak Arabic too. There are different ways of getting to this bounty island. You can fly from Arusha or Dar es Salaam. From Arusha a flight will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes. From Dar es Salaam it is only a 20 minute flight or you can take the ferry which takes about 2,5 hours. To get to Dar es Salaam from Arusha you can either fly or go by bus. The bus will take about 9-10 hours.
