Beaches
Zanzibar is most famous for its amazing long white beaches and blue sea. The beaches are one of the most beautiful beaches of the world. Up north great places to visit are Kendwa and Nungwi. Kendwa is known for its bubbling nightlife and a great place for young people who like to party till early morning. Every month there is a full moon party where you can dance till you drop. Nungwi on the other hand is more quiet. It used to be a typical fisherman’s village. Now it attracts many people for having one of the best beaches on the island. The accommodations in this area are therefore more up market. Also the east coast has many lovely places, for example Paje and Jambiani on the south east.
You can spend your days at the beach relaxing, getting tanned and sipping your cocktail. If you had enough of that there are activities you can experience. Visit the Jozani Forest NP to photograph the rare Red Columbus Monkeys, go swimming with wild dolphins, discover the Indian Ocean snorkeling or diving, visit Prison Island where gigantic turtles live, take a dhow and sunset cruise, go deep sea fishing.… and many more.
